Warehouse Manager
Role Description:
- The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the efficient movement of materials and supplies by directing inbound and outbound shipments, warehousing and distribution of materials. The Warehouse Manager manages the faculties in compliance with the company’s policies and vision.
Key Responsibilities/Deliverables:
- Maintain receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing operational and personnel policies and procedures.
- Communicate any problems or obstacles to the Plant Manager promptly.
- Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, onboarding and training employees.
- Coach, counsel and discipline employees
- Control inventory levels, in coordination with the Cycle Count/Inventory Lead, by conducting physical counts and reconciling with Inventory Computer System.
- Maintain physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts.
- Collaborate on department budget and monitor expenses to stay within budget.
- Reduce expenses and increase productivity.
- Develop, follow and enforce Quality and Production SOP’s, WI’s and GMP’s.
- Organize the routine, preventative maintenance, inspection and repair of production equipment.
- Develop continuous improvement initiatives with employees.
- Other duties as deemed necessary
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required for Success:
- Associates degree and/or related warehouse experience.
- Three years’ of Warehouse Experience in a Supervisory or Management Role.
- Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience preferred.
- Fleet Management Experience a Plus.
- Ability to work with all levels of outside trucking vendors and customers.
- Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite and MRP Systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a warehouse/manufacture setting.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, talk and hear.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
