As a member of the team you will be the face of Wire 3 in the communities that we intend to serve and responsible for providing the homeowners the best experience possible working in or around their property.
This is a full-time hourly position, expected to work at least 40 hours per week. This position operates in an outdoor environment and is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions including rain, humidity, high temperatures, and high wind. The outside work environment will vary throughout the day including changes in terrain, traffic, urban settings, and/or rural settings. Exposure to moderate to loud noise levels. This position is subject to the Federal Department of Transportation (DOT) drug & alcohol testing regulations as outlined in 49 CFR Part 382 and/or 49 CFR Part 199.
Requirements
- Report directly to crew leader/foreman
- A good driving record is required.
- Class A Commercial Driver’s License is a plus (Higher wage scales apply to CDL holders).
- Ability to properly clean and maintain the equipment, check fluid levels, and conduct a visual inspection of vehicle/equipment to assure your vehicle/equipment is performing at optimum safety, perform the required pre-trip, post trip inspections and the required reports.
- Load material or equipment for transport from show-up yard to job site and secure as appropriate.
- Participate in job hazard analysis on daily basis or as often as conditions change.
- Ensure safety of the public and other utilities underground facilities
- Knowledge of NESC, OSHA, and related state and local codes.
- Ability to recognize priority issues and escalate accordingly.
- Set equipment up including the drill, water tanks and grounding the machine.
- Willing and able to work in all weather conditions.
- Place, remove or maintain underground utilities as directed. This includes laborer duties such as carrying pipe, bags of material and other heavy items, jack hammering, shoveling, tamping, and installing pipe, duct or cable.
- Perform trenching, missile-bore, hand-hole placement, installation of fiber optic cable, restoration of area and inner duct/conduit and related restoration.
- Locates other buried wiring/cabling Install underground telecommunications cabling.
- Assist in securing work site, equipment and materials at the end of each shift to ensure public safety and safety of equipment and materials. Additional duties as assigned.
