We are looking for a Sushi Chef to join our team
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all dishes meet our high standards before they leave the kitchen.
- Menu Mastery: Learn and understand our entire menu to perfection.
- Waste Management: Minimize food waste through efficient use of ingredients.
- Fish Preparation: Skillfully clean, filet, and cut various fish and mollusks.
- Sushi Making: Prepare nigiri, handrolls, sashimi, and other sushi items.
- Rice Preparation: Follow our specific process for washing, cooking, and cutting sushi rice.
- Inventory Management: Oversee the ordering and accuracy of inventory, ensuring we have the right stock levels.
- Training: Assist in training kitchen staff.
- Cleanliness: Maintain a clean workspace, including post-shift cleanup and proper food storage.
- Compliance: Adhere to all health, safety, and labor laws.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Experience: At least 3 years of sushi-making experience, with knowledge of Japanese cuisine.
- Attitude: Positive, friendly, and professional demeanor.
- Skills:
- Exceptional customer service.
- Ability to educate staff and customers about sushi.
- Strong communication skills under pressure.
- Basic math proficiency.
- Teamwork and leadership qualities.
