We are looking for a Public Health Nurses to join our team
Specific duties include:
1. Monitor the health status of individuals and families under care and develop appropriate health plans.
2. Investigate health problems and health hazards in the community, including prevention and control of communicable diseases.
3. Promote the health of individuals and families through informing, educating, counseling, and appropriate intervention.
4. Seek to engage and establish partnerships in the community to address public health issues.
5. Assist with the development of policies and plans that support individual and community health efforts.
6. Communicate and interpret such policies and plans to the public and other community agencies. This includes planning and managing a client caseload, including coordination of intra- and inter-agency services.
7. Under the direction of the Medical Officer of Health, ensure enforcement of public health laws and regulations.
8. Link individuals, families, and the community with needed resources. This includes providing population-based public health nursing services in community settings as directed. This also includes providing services aimed at the promotion of health and the prevention of disease in individuals, families, and groups.
Position Qualifications:
Education, training, & experience
- Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from an accredited University
- Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse in the general class with no restrictions.
- Previous experience working as a Registered Nurse is an asset.
- Previous experience working as a nurse in a Public Health Unit is an asset.
