We are looking for a Radiological Technologist to join our team

What you’ll do
  • Prepare patients for diagnostic mammography examinations by explaining procedures and giving directions for participation. Produces and develops mammograms according to program standards.
  • Refers problems regarding quality of images, work procedures or workflow to Site Coordinator.
  • Organize films for radiologists to report, placing films on alternator if required. Collects reported films and either files or arranges for filing.
  • Perform general duty radiographic procedures consistent with established standards, procedures radiation protection practices and protocols. Performs procedures working with radiologists, physicians and other health care professionals.
  • Complete procedures using appropriate equipment, maintains and updates records in RIS/PACS and checks resultant images for technical quality. Refers problems in image quality to the supervisor. Stores digital images using appropriate equipment.
  • Facilitate the workflow of designated work area by checking information on requisitions meets departmental standards, regulating inpatient examination time, arranging departmental and/or facility porters.
What you bring

 

Qualifications:
  • Successful completion of CAMRT/BCIT Certificate in Breast Imaging.
  • One year’s recent, related experience in Mammography procedures and recent, related experience performing general radiographic procedures.
You have:
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the standards of practice and guidelines for Medical Imaging practitioners established by the CAMRT and/or other relevant national professional associations.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of mammography protocols, applications and equipment with understanding of the principles of mammography including positioning, pathology, film/screen techniques, x ray and processing factors as well as related patient care techniques.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and practice of safe work procedures with diagnostic radiographic and medical imaging equipment.
  • Demonstrate ability to perform radiographic and screening mammography examinations in compliance with departmental standards.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of evidence-based practice related to designated modality.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of organization policies, procedures and standards of care, including practice of safe work procedures with modality equipment.
