POSITION SUMMARY

Assists the clinical, reimbursement, and operations teams in the areas of purchasing and inventory

management. Serves as a company resource for questions relating to product selection, contract

utilization, inventory control, accounts payable related to inventory, and reimbursement for purchased

goods.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Licenses: N/A

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Minimum of three years’ experience in alternate site/home health.

Minimum of two years’ experience in purchasing and inventory control.

Miscellaneous: Strong computer skills required.

 

TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understands and adheres to all applicable state, local and federal laws and/or regulations, as well

as company policies and procedures.

  • Evaluates purchasing contracts and selects products that minimize cost of inventory while

maximizing reimbursement.

  • Checks and maintains inventory levels and places inventory orders.
  • Monitors item usage and makes recommendations for adjustments to standard levels that assist in

avoiding stock out situations and keep inventory levels as low as can be safely tolerated.

  • Assists in achieving cost effectiveness in purchasing and inventory control.
  • Processes purchase orders and order receipt. Maintain purchase order files and processes invoices.
  • Updates supply records and pricing in electronic medical record(s).
  • Trains other team members on inventory control and maintenance.
  • Assists with physical inventory activities and reports results to direct supervisor and senior

management team members as directed. Responsible for researching any discrepancies.

  • Meets with vendor representatives as needed.
  • Assists in ensuring proper drug, supply, and equipment codes are assigned and communicated to

reimbursement and clinical departments.

  • Checks for expired/unusable products and disposes of them properly.
  • Reviews product recalls and responds to requests for recall information. Coordinates product

returns, as necessary.

  • Receives orders into warehouse and enters products into inventory in an orderly and efficient

manner.

  • Responds to requests promptly and ensures that critical supplies are available as needed.
  • Assists in ordering and receiving home medical equipment.
  • Create reports and analyze data on inventory utilization, ordering and adjustments at request of

senior management leaders.
