The Role
We are seeking a Plumber / Steamfitter to support our Real Property Planning and Management (RPPM) Branch. The ideal candidate would share our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect, and Creativity.
This position will appeal to someone who enjoys working in a multi-site team environment with constantly changing priorities and new challenges daily. The successful incumbent should be open to learning and able to contribute their own input and ideas to benefit the workplace.
This position requires some knowledge of building automation systems and will require you to be on call for emergencies on a rotating schedule for both facilities in the Ottawa area. The sites are 25km apart. A vehicle will be available for your use when travelling between the sites.
Education
Secondary School Diploma according to provincial standards.
Licensed Steamfitter/Plumber 307A or 306A an equivalent inter-provincial Red Seal Journeymen’s Certificate of Qualification.
The following certifications or training might be considered as an asset:
- Red Seal
- WHMIS
- Working at Heights
- Confined Space
- Designated Substances Awareness
First Aid Level
