We are seeking an experienced Data QA Engineer to join our PowerSIMM team in Boulder, Colorado. As a Data QA Engineer, you will be instrumental in ensuring the integrity and reliability of our data. You will work closely with our data engineers, analysts, and developers to write, execute, and maintain tests and scripts focused on our analytics code and processes. Your efforts will ensure that our data remains trustworthy, accurate, and aligned with business requirements.
Job Responsibilities
- Test Development & Execution: Write, execute, and maintain comprehensive tests and scripts designed to validate our analytics code, data pipelines, and processes.
- Test Automation: Implement and maintain automated testing frameworks to streamline data quality assurance processes.
- Data Validation: Develop and perform automated and manual tests to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness across all systems.
- Code Review: Collaborate with other data QA engineers and data engineers to review and improve data-related code.
- Documentation: Document test cases, procedures, and results to ensure a clear record of data validation efforts.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements, provide feedback, and contribute to overall data quality improvements.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on the latest QA methodologies and tools, and continuously seek to improve testing strategies and processes.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Data/Information Science, Mathematics, or a related field
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in a similar position
- Working knowledge of Python
- Experience working with relational data via Oracle, Postgres, and/or SQL Server
- Experience with test, verification, validation and productization of algorithms
- Ability to thrive in an Agile Scrum environment
- A desire and curiosity about learning innovative technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Oracle, Python, Pandas and Sas.
- Knowledge of the energy industry, markets, and terminology
- Experience in a DevOps environment with CI/CD tools
- Experience working with big data systems like Snowflake, Redshift, OneLake, or other lake/lakehouse architectures.
- Familiarity with data statistics and probability theory
