We are looking for a Journeyperson Signals Electrician to join our team
Primary duties include:
- Install, construct, repair, and troubleshoot LRT signals, communications, and equipment.
- Inspect and test the operation of gate crossing, switch machines, and interlockings.
- Configure, test and wire traffic signal cabinets, intersections, signalized crosswalks, and detection systems.
- Install and program communications equipment including radios, fibre optics and cellular components.
- Install and repair steel structures for traffic signals.
- Troubleshoot and repair traffic signals, signalized crosswalks and detection systems.
- Perform maintenance on Digital Message Signs, Pan-Tilt-Zoom cameras and other intelligent traffic system equipment.
Qualifications
- A completed 2 year diploma in Electronics Engineering Technology; OR
- A valid Journeyperson Electrician certificate, or equivalent as recognized by the Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training Board.
- At least 3 years experience as a Journeyperson Electrician or as an Electronic Engineering Technologist is required.
- A valid Full Class 5 Driver’s License (or provincial equivalent), with no more than 6 demerits and no current suspensions or charges pending is required.
- Knowledge of relay components and logic, fibre switching, and DC power systems is required.
- Ability to read and interpret logic programming, electronics/electro mechanical, and civil schematic drawings is required.
- A valid Class 3 Driver’s License with ‘Q’ endorsement will be considered an asset.
- Ability to work well and exercise good judgement and diplomacy under pressure, while dealing with multiple interested parties, responsibilities, and projects.
- Must be able to collaborate and work cohesively in a team environment.
