We are looking for a Financial Controller to join our team.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including month- and year-end processes, accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, payroll, budgeting, variance analysis, and trust account reconciliations.
- Develop, maintain, and review the Finance Policy and Procedures Manual; provide technical accounting advisory for the organization.
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for all entities within the corporate group, assisting CEOs with monthly reporting packages.
- Lead the compilation and review of financial reports and supporting documentation.
- Reconcile inter-company transactions monthly.
- Execute KPI analysis, competitor reports, and provide insights to management.
- Monitor and implement new accounting standards and compliance requirements.
- Handle provincial and federal tax filing requirements.
- Respond to financial inquiries through data gathering and analysis.
- Assist the CFO with special projects and process improvements.
- Perform other assigned duties.
About You
- Post-secondary degree in Business; working towards or holding a CPA designation.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in finance.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge; insurance and warranty accounting experience preferred.
- Ability to address complex accounting issues and develop practical solutions.
- Self-motivated, well-organized, with a strong attention to detail and a process-improvement mindset.
- Proficiency in financial modeling in Excel.
- Must have supervisory experience.
- Experience in the auto industry is a plus.
- Ability to interact professionally with senior management.
- Proven track record of meeting deadlines and managing workload effectively.
