EIHC is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse dedicated to serving the needs of our community.

$26.00 to $45.00 hourly depending on experience

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Oversee clinical care of other personnel including the Licensed Practical Nurse, Certified Medical Assistant and Clinical assistant.
  • Provides individualized education to patients and families appropriate for age, diagnosis, and level of understanding.
  • Provide general nursing care and leadership, working collaboratively with providers and multidisciplinary team members.
  • Assists providers with patient office visits, including putting patients in rooms, interviewing patients, recording vital signs and entering information in patient’s electronic medical record.
  • Responsible for maintaining exam rooms organized, clean, and stocked with required supplies and equipment for each visit.
  • Performs select clinical tests including, but not limited to; blood glucose, rapid HIV testing, influenza, and strep cultures. Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly. Correctly labels all specimens.
  • Observes, assesses, records, and reports changes in patients’ condition.
  • Administers medications and vaccines according to orders from a provider following the six (6) rights of medication administration.
  • May initiate intravenous access and administer medications intravenously as ordered by a provider.
  • Assists providers with procedures by providing pre- and post-procedural care, participating in the Time Out, and intra-procedural support.
  • Follows standard precautions with all patients for proper infection control; correctly follows medical and surgical aseptic technique when indicated.
  • Screen patient calls and make follow up calls as requested by the provider.
