THIS Role is HYBRID 2X per week in Chicago area office

Working directly with the CEO, the Brand Manager will oversee the holistic marketing efforts of the brand, including building strategy, developing a 360 calendar, setting performance goals, managing internal and external teams, participating in New Product Development, leading events and more.

The ideal candidate will have omni-channel experience and a commercial marketing background in a consumer products company with an understanding of how innovation, pricing, distribution and advertising and promotion practices work together to build brands.

As a problem solver with a strong background in data analysis and reporting, you will have the opportunity to make business cases for a variety of tactics to test, learn and grow our business with the support and mentorship of the CEO.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the entire marketing calendar process – using content pillars to build out the brand story through 360, creating campaigns that get us noticed and leading internal and external resources through execution and optimization.
  • Drive community (social, influencer, public relations, affiliate, consumer response etc.) turning our loyal and growing fanbase into a group of advocates who, whether paid or unpaid, drive profitable awareness and growth at a significant pace
  • Serve as the brand champion – helping to create/manage brand guidelines, voice, tone, imagery, content, and UGC.
  • Own Product Development process with roadmap planning, macro trend research/insights, competitive analysis, CMF insights, channel and lifecycle strategies.
  • Lead the development of a data-first approach to NPD and marketing investment strategy to help uncover opportunity for growth and bring discipline to decision making across the organization.
  • Manage the company’s trade show and event marketing participation – including, planning, execution, and related marketing activities
  • Participate in strategic annual brand planning process, working collaboratively with leadership and cross functional teams to set goals, KPIs and strategies and tactics that lead to a budget and calendar that grows our business and builds our brand.

Skills

  • Strong learning mindset and belief that anything can be learned and figured out
  • Participation in development and leadership of 360 marketing calendar creation and execution
  • Knowledgeable in social channel management and expansion – Meta (IG/FB) and Google / YouTube are mandatory. TikTok, Reddit and emerging channels are a plus
  • Experienced in influencer / PR / affiliate marketing
  • Experience in working with external agencies, in particular, social / influencer, paid media, and public relations
  • Concepting, briefing and executing creative storytelling across all 360 – email, website, paid, social, etc.
  • Experience in product development either in a product management capacity, and/or in supportive manner with data, research, etc. to influence NPD roadmap and product ideation.
  • Understanding of data, analytics and how to use to grow long-term, profitable brands
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to prioritize multiple and complex projects
  • Ability to innovate in the world of digital, finding ways to drive efficiency through first mover tactics, hacks and out of the box thinking. Test and learn is key for success in this role
  • Excellent communication skills and exceptional ability to build strong relationships with both internal and external partners.

Experience

  • 3+ years of marketing management experience with a focus on digital, full-funnel marketing
  • 2+ years experience in managing successful social, affiliate, referral, influencer and PR marketing programs
  • 1+ years of product development or product management experience
  • Proven experience growing a DTC brand on Shopify and Amazon using 360 content and calendar strategy and full funnel digital marketing discipline
  • Experience working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial/start-up structure; at ease working in a continuously changing environment.
  • University or college degree in business, marketing or an equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job. MBA is a plus
  • Ability to travel to trade shows and company events as needed (up to 20%)
