What You’ll Be Doing
- Work closely with procurement and scheduling team members to ensure all material sourcing is in line with procurement strategy.
- Scheduled deliveries are in line with program or product launch milestones.
- Liaise with engineering team to identify product change or NPI programme planning deliverables.
- Schedule material demand and production plans accordingly.
- In terms of material or product revisions ensure that there is an agreed point of embodiment for the changes.
- Work with the relevant stakeholders to assess inventory impact, inventory burn off or inventory excess and obsolescence mitigation plans.
- Ensure all planning parameters, BoMs and part master data is maintained to the correct revision or configuration.
- Creating and maintaining Plan for Every Part (PFEP) to ensure accurate assessment of necessary storage.
- Provision of packaging is considered in preproduction and steady state planning.
- Facilitate Value Stream Mapping with key stakeholders to ensure effective material flow and alignment to system transactions.
- Generate and issue schedules for pre-production and prototype builds.
- Liaise with procurement to ensure supply of material samples and tooling are sourced in line with pre-production requirements.
- Work closely with material and production planners to ensure a smooth hand over and transition from project launch to steady state.
- Carry out material availability checks and ensure any delays or risks are reporting and necessary mitigation plans are put in place.
- Monitor both supplier and internal parts’ shipments and material control. this will include completion
- Stock management and reporting.
- Support to Logistics Manager, Programme and Engineering teams.
- Organise shipments in accordance with parts release schedule, document and project alterations relating to any ad-hoc movements.
- Ensuring drop dead dates are met.
- Complete shipment monitoring reports, updating relevant parties as applicable.
- Monitor report status and escalate when necessary.
- Work with production and supply chain teams to ensure necessary production capacity is aligned to programme launch and ramp up.
- Work with relevant planners to create rough-cut capacity plans and notify stakeholders of potential bottle necks.
The Skills You’ll Need To Succeed
- Experience within a manufacturing environment
- Must have robust working knowledge of MRP based systems
- Logistics or supply chain technical qualification (APICs, IoSCM, MCIPS, BSc)
- Is highly numeric, analytical and with sound attention to detail
- Understands BoMs, Routings and Item Master Set up in an ERP system
- Solid organizational, time and project management skills
- Takes initiative, manages complexity and is decisive
- Effective communicator who facilitates bottom up and top-down communication channels
- Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability in a changing environment
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel
