Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging instruction using curriculum materials and educational software.

  • Develop daily lesson plans and classroom schedules that align with state and school requirements.

  • Collaborate with fellow educators and support staff to provide instructional assistance and implement curriculum modifications as needed.

  • Establish and maintain standards for student behavior, creating a structured, safe, and supportive learning environment.

  • Maintain open communication with parents/guardians, keeping them informed about student progress, challenges, and any external factors that may impact performance.

  • Participate in team meetings to address student and parent concerns when necessary.

  • Assess student progress through ongoing data collection and analysis.

  • Stay current with research-based practices, subject-area developments, and professional growth opportunities.

  • Constructively respond to both formal and informal feedback.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in education or a related field.

  • Experience and/or expertise in curriculum development, differentiated instruction, and classroom teaching.

  • Background in special education services and compliance, particularly for students with autism-related disabilities and emotional disturbances (preferred).

  • Strong verbal and written communication, instructional, curriculum development, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and new initiatives with flexibility and motivation.

  • Proven ability to manage tasks efficiently, meet deadlines, and maintain organization with keen attention to detail.

  • Ability to remain calm and make independent decisions in emergency situations.

  • Proficiency in instructional technology, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry, and basic office equipment.
