Position Profile
The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure guests enjoy a seamless and exceptional dining experience by providing prompt, courteous, and attentive food and beverage service.
Essential Job Functions
- Greet guests, take food and drink orders, and accommodate special requests.
- Provide continuous, attentive service throughout the dining experience, always maintaining or exceeding restaurant service standards.
- Perform opening and closing side work, including restocking and cleaning duties.
- Memorize menu items, recipes, and daily specials to answer guest inquiries and provide recommendations.
- Maintain cleanliness standards in the restaurant, wait stations, and kitchen service areas to meet state and local health regulations.
- Accurately document guest checks and follow proper check-use procedures.
- Process guest payments with accuracy to ensure customer satisfaction and financial integrity.
- Attend pre-shift and departmental meetings to stay informed on menu updates, service expectations, and facility changes.
- Provide prompt and knowledgeable responses to guest inquiries both in person and over the phone.
- Maintain a professional appearance and friendly demeanor at all times.
- Handle customer service concerns with tact and professionalism, even in high-pressure or emotional situations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Desired Skills and Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 3 to 6 months in a food and beverage service role.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Strong attention to detail to read guest checks, receipts, and menu items, even in dim lighting.
- Excellent manual coordination to operate POS systems, carry trays, and balance food and beverages.
- Ability to speak, read, and understand English.
- Capability to lift, push, and carry 20–40 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
- Strong communication skills to relay information between guests, management, and staff.
