Key Responsibilities:
- Repair and replace broken plumbing fixtures.
- Install new plumbing fixtures and hot water systems.
- Clear obstructions from waste and sewage pipes.
- Operate pipe cutters and other plumbing equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of completed work.
- Analyze building plans and blueprints to determine installation sequences.
- Locate and mark pipe positions and connections.
- Cut openings in floors and walls for plumbing installations.
- Cut, thread, and bend pipes to required angles.
- Join pipes using screws, bolts, and other fittings.
- Conduct pressure tests to identify leaks.
- Install and repair plumbing fixtures, including sinks, toilets, and water heaters.
- Replace washers in leaking faucets and repair burst pipes.
- Install campus-wide sprinkler systems.
- Lead plumbing projects and oversee assigned workers.
- Estimate project timelines and inspect completed work.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Technical or vocational degree with two years of related experience; OR
- High school diploma/GED with four years of related experience; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid Georgia Driver’s License.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of plumbing tools, methods, and practices.
- Familiarity with plumbing codes and safety regulations.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to climb ladders, access confined spaces, and perform physically demanding tasks.
