Our Colorado-based mining and milling operations are located near Leadville, Kremmling, and Empire, with our Climax Mine situated between Frisco and Leadville, the highest incorporated city in the U.S.

Your Role: Electrical/Instrumentation Technician

As a Skilled Electrical/Instrumentation Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing electrical components while ensuring safe and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely execute routine and non-routine repairs and construction tasks.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, installation, and repair of industrial electrical/instrumentation equipment, including:
    • Substations, power distribution systems, switchgear, motors, and motor controls.
    • Process controls, instrumentation, and pneumatic equipment.
  • Assist in troubleshooting industrial electrical and instrumentation systems.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

Minimum Qualifications

  • Completion of an approved electronics, electrical, or instrumentation program OR at least two (2) years of hands-on experience in industrial electrical/instrumentation repair and maintenance.
  • Basic experience with electrical circuits and connected equipment.
  • Valid state driver’s license.
  • Ability to obtain necessary personal tools within 90 days of hire.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must meet required academic, technical, and safety competencies, including passing a written assessment (where applicable).

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Experience working with low and medium voltage systems.
  • Proficiency in AC and DC controls.
  • Experience with instrumentation devices and diagnostic electrical test equipment.

Working Conditions & Requirements

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English.
  • Must be able to work in a physically demanding and potentially high-stress environment.
  • Work may be performed in mines, manufacturing plants, or outdoor environments, with exposure to:
    • Extreme temperatures and humidity.
    • Moving machinery, electrical hazards, toxic chemicals, and airborne particles.
  • Ability to:
    • Stand, sit, climb, and use manual dexterity throughout the shift.
    • Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
    • Work on elevated platforms, ladders, or confined spaces.
  • Completion of pre-employment assessments, including a color perception and electrical/instrumentation test.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required in a 24/7/365 operation.
  • Compliance with personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, including hard hats, safety glasses, steel-toe footwear, hearing protection, and respirators.
  • Commitment to a drug- and alcohol-free workplace, including pre-employment and ongoing random testing, as permitted by law.

What We Offer

Compensation: $28.50 – $38.50 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and skills. Additional discretionary and incentive payments may apply based on individual and company performance.
