Industrial Electrician
Job Purpose & Overview
This role involves performing repair and maintenance tasks on machinery, buildings, and support equipment. You will work with technical independence, determining the best methods and procedures while receiving assignments through verbal or written instructions, sketches, or diagrams. Your work will be reviewed by a Team Leader or Supervisor through inspections and discussions.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and related equipment.
- Troubleshoot, test, and evaluate equipment using electronic instruments.
- Work with three-phase 480VAC and low-voltage control systems, including 4-20 mA instrumentation circuits.
- Perform PLC troubleshooting and understand control circuits to execute repairs.
- Complete preventative maintenance work orders and keep accurate records.
- Follow all facility safety protocols and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Utilize hand tools, meters, gauges, and testing equipment.
- Run conduit and wiring to match amperage needs.
- Interact with contractors as needed.
- Assist in parts inventory management and cycle counts.
- Carry out environmental compliance tasks, as appropriate.
- Supervision responsibilities may vary based on skill block designation.
Education & Qualifications
- Electrical Certification required in General Industrial Electricity and Motor Controls.
- PLC certification preferred.
- High school diploma desired.
- Must provide necessary hand tools for job duties.
Skills & Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in industrial electricity.
- PC literate with the ability to read blueprints and schematics.
- Strong understanding of ladder logic controls and PLC troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC).
- Experience with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) for AC/DC systems.
- Ability to use electrical and electronic testing equipment.
- Capable of training others and working with minimal supervision.

- Ability to work any shift and overtime as needed.
- Ability to identify slight color codes.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs to shoulder height.
- Occasional climbing of stairs for equipment access.
- Frequent bending, stooping, standing, and walking.
Work Environment
- 100% of work is on the manufacturing floor with moderate noise levels.
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including:
- NFPA-70E-compliant gear
- Hearing protection
- Safety glasses
- Steel-toe shoes
