Medical Practice Administrator – Responsibilities & Qualifications
Responsibilities:
- Staff Management & Training: Lead recruitment, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations for office personnel.
- Operational Efficiency & Compliance: Ensure adherence to office protocols, EMR workflows, and emergency procedures to maintain smooth operations.
- Patient Experience & Office Oversight: Foster a professional and welcoming environment, address patient concerns, and oversee front-desk operations.
- Scheduling & Workflow Coordination: Manage physician and staff schedules while optimizing appointment policies and workflow efficiency.
- Financial & Billing Management: Oversee budgeting, invoicing, petty cash, accounts receivable, medical billing, and insurance claims processing.
- Regulatory Compliance & EMR Systems: Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, provide staff training on EMR systems, and maintain accurate medical documentation.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Management, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in medical office management, healthcare administration, or practice operations, with prior supervisory experience required.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of EMR systems (NextGen preferred), Phreesia, medical billing, and insurance processes; familiarity with E-Requestor and IFOD procedures is a plus.
- Skills & Attributes: Exceptional organizational, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to multitask and problem-solve in a dynamic medical environment.
