  • Overview

    The Lead Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) works under the direction of the site supervisor or site manager to support providers and clinical staff in delivering high-quality patient care. Operating within the LVN scope of practice, the Lead LVN plays a crucial role in both direct and indirect patient care while ensuring efficient clinical operations. This position requires collaboration with healthcare providers, clinical staff, and other members of the healthcare team to maintain a patient-centered approach.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Team Leadership & Coordination

      • Organizes and assigns duties to the clinical team to meet operational goals.
      • Maintains clinical workflows and ensures adequate staff coverage to support providers and patient care.
      • Monitors daily performance to ensure the delivery of high-quality, efficient care.
    • Training & Development

      • Conducts departmental orientation and ensures new employees meet training requirements.
      • Trains clinical staff on workflow processes and job duties.
      • Evaluates clinical skills and performance using standardized tools.
      • Provides coaching and counseling under the guidance of the site supervisor or manager to improve team performance.
    • Operational & Compliance Oversight

      • Manages wage and non-wage expenses, including pharmacy and medical supplies, per organizational guidelines.
      • Ensures staff members maintain current certifications and licenses required for their roles.
      • Upholds clinical practices that align with organizational policies, industry standards, and best practices.
      • Works collaboratively with leads, supervisors, and managers across departments to enhance clinical operations.
    • Direct & Indirect Patient Care

      • Provides hands-on patient care within the scope of an LVN.
      • Demonstrates proficiency in clinical procedures in accordance with policies and regulations.

    Qualifications

    Education:

    • Completion of an accredited Vocational Nurse program.

    Licenses/Certifications:

    • Valid CA LVN license (Required).
    • BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross (Required).
    • IV Therapy and Blood Withdrawal Certification (Required).

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 5 years of LVN experience (Required).Advanced training for nurses & allied health professionals.
