Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging, academically rigorous lessons aligned with HVA’s standards and deeper learning philosophy.
- Dedicate time each week to professional development, including personalized instructional coaching, co-planning, and collaborative meetings.
- Build meaningful, lasting relationships with students, inspiring them to uphold high academic and character standards.
- Establish and maintain classroom expectations that encourage students to develop agency, autonomy, and ownership over their learning.
- Analyze assessment data to refine and enhance instructional strategies.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and ensure student mastery of learning standards.
- Maintain strong relationships with families, providing updates through phone calls and conferences.
- Contribute to the school community by participating in school events, leading clubs, reading groups, athletic teams, or other initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher required.
- 2-3 years of teaching experience required; 5+ years preferred.
- Proven track record of student achievement in previous teaching roles.
- Ability to foster a safe, supportive, and intellectually challenging classroom environment.
- A strong sense of personal accountability for student success.
- Deep conviction that all students are capable of high levels of learning.
- Highly reflective and growth-oriented, open to feedback, and committed to continuous professional improvement.
