Responsibilities
- Oversee pre-certification and surgical scheduling for the assigned physician.
- Facilitate financial clearance by coordinating communication between nursing staff and physicians through Athena and Resource systems.
- Input and track charges for IVF cycles, monitor patient accounts, and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Address patient inquiries related to insurance, billing, and financial obligations.
- Manage refund processing, adjustments, and collection activities as needed.
- Prepare daily financial reports and handle bank deposits.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in healthcare insurance and customer service.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, CPT, and ICD-9 coding.
- Proficiency in medical software and Microsoft Office Suite.
