Responsibilities

  • Oversee pre-certification and surgical scheduling for the assigned physician.
  • Facilitate financial clearance by coordinating communication between nursing staff and physicians through Athena and Resource systems.
  • Input and track charges for IVF cycles, monitor patient accounts, and follow up on outstanding balances.
  • Address patient inquiries related to insurance, billing, and financial obligations.
  • Manage refund processing, adjustments, and collection activities as needed.
  • Prepare daily financial reports and handle bank deposits.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in healthcare insurance and customer service.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, CPT, and ICD-9 coding.
  • Proficiency in medical software and Microsoft Office Suite.
