Minimum Eligibility Requirements

  • At least one year of inventory control experience in a big-box retail setting or an equivalent combination of education and experience that qualifies for the role, as determined by the company.
  • Experience in point-of-sale (POS) analysis and reporting.
  • Business analysis experience is a plus.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Functions

  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding and adherence to the company’s safe lifting practices and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Follow the daily cycle count and category review schedule.
  • Investigate and resolve all inventory-related discrepancies, making necessary adjustments within the inventory system.
  • Review shipping and receiving documents for accuracy.
  • Immediately notify department managers of any tagging or SKU discrepancies in merchandise.
  • Conduct daily audits of the BFR in compliance with the Inventory Control SOP.
  • Perform random audits on incoming and outgoing trucks.
  • Monitor the SOR process to ensure compliance with the Return of Sale SOP.
  • Audit the SRR process for voids and partial voids, following Return of Sale SOP guidelines.
  • Oversee the RTV process, ensuring proper handling as outlined in SOPs.
  • Ensure facility security by promptly reporting any issues to management.
  • Conduct weekly audits of the customer merchandise storage area, resolving any discrepancies with the CEM (Customer Experience Manager) and Operations Manager.
  • Assist the Operations Manager during physical inventory periods.
  • Verify that “Sample” tape is applied to all written-off wood boxes labeled “Sam” and address any inconsistencies with the department manager.
  • Generate the OSDR Report for DMG, RTV, VA, DIS, WO, CHR, PRV, USE, LF, STL, WEB, and SAM monthly, verifying the correct movement of merchandise and resolving any discrepancies. Submit findings and corrections to the Operations Manager for review and documentation.
  • Perform random daily checks on at least 10 customer receipts, including both “Pickup” and “Take With” tickets. Address discrepancies immediately and notify the CEM/Operations Manager of any errors.
  • Communicate inventory discrepancies identified during cycle counts to the Store Management Team, propose solutions, and follow up to ensure issues are resolved. If issues persist, escalate to the CEM/Operations Manager.
  • Maintain and organize all cycle count paperwork as per SOPs.
  • Ensure all inventory adjustments and changes are correctly implemented and verified.

Working Conditions

  • The role primarily operates in a warehouse environment where exposure to moving vehicles is frequent.
  • The noise level varies from moderate to loud, depending on operational activities.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • The role may involve long hours, including evenings, weekends, and peak business periods.
