Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Valid New York State Teaching Certification in Mathematics or Science (Grades 1-6, 5-9, or 7-12) required
  • Minimum of two years of teaching experience in an urban school setting

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lesson plans that spark curiosity and promote mastery of core subjects
  • Utilize diverse assessment methods—exams, projects, and written assignments—to track student progress and personalize learning experiences
  • Set and uphold high academic and behavioral expectations, inspiring students to reach their full potential
  • Implement varied instructional strategies, including direct instruction, hands-on activities, and collaborative learning, to enhance student engagement
  • Work closely with teaching assistants and fellow educators to address individual student needs and foster a supportive learning environment
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, fostering a culture of trust, communication, and academic achievement

Schedule:

  • Monday – Friday, 7:40 AM – 4:00 PM
  • 10-month academic year with optional summer teaching opportunities for additional pay
