Position Summary
The Inventory Control Specialist plays a key role within the Warehouse Management Team, overseeing inventory control functions across all manufacturing areas at the Milford Operations facility. This position is responsible for ensuring inventory accuracy across all storage locations, managing the proper consumption of raw materials, and maintaining accurate system reporting for finished goods production. The specialist is cross-trained in various inventory control tasks to support operational efficiency.
Essential Functions
- Proficient in SAP for all aspects of inventory management.
- Utilize Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) to perform data analysis and create visual reports, including charts in Excel.
- Maintain high accuracy in inventory quantities to ensure financial and material integrity.
- Perform cycle counts, manufacturing transactions, and inventory management tasks within SAP.
- Identify, report, track, and resolve material variance issues.
- Monitor and compare actual scrap levels against allowable limits within bills of materials, reporting discrepancies to production management.
- Develop system improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce failures.
- Gain a thorough understanding of manufacturing processes and identify areas for optimization.
- Exhibit leadership capabilities, supporting team members in meeting department and business objectives.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports to analyze and track key production metrics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Production, Quality Assurance, Logistics, and Warehousing.
Other Duties & Responsibilities
- Travel may be required for cycle counting and inventory reconciliation at third-party storage locations.
- Occasional work outside of standard first-shift hours may be needed to support training sessions or project initiatives within operations.
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required.
