Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver high-impact presentations and reports for key stakeholders, including internal leadership, Boards of Directors, Practice Line Leaders, and investors.
- Conduct in-depth data analyses—descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive—to uncover insights and drive strategic recommendations for internal and client-facing stakeholders.
- Collaborate with senior leaders at Portage Point to design and implement data and analytics solutions that address complex business challenges across various client engagements.
- Assess and enhance clients’ data infrastructure, governance, and analytics capabilities to improve operational efficiency and decision-making.
- Build and maintain internal data pipelines, models, and dashboards using SQL, Python, and Power BI to support critical decision-making processes.
- Assist in developing financial and operational models, including dynamic KPI dashboards and advanced reporting tools.
- Conduct due diligence and market research to support business development and client engagements.
- Support talent acquisition and firm development initiatives as needed.
- Contribute to fostering a high-performing, inclusive, and collaborative workplace culture.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, computer science, information systems, statistics, mathematics, or a related STEM field from a top-tier undergraduate program.
- Willing to work in or relocate to Chicago, Dallas, or New York.
- Committed to a team-oriented culture, with an in-office presence required four days per week and the flexibility to work on-site with clients as needed.
- 1-3 years of experience in data analytics, consulting, or a related field, with a demonstrated ability to develop and implement data-driven solutions.
- Proficiency in SQL and Power BI, with a strong ability to create and maintain sophisticated data models and visualizations.
- Python proficiency is highly preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong analytical skills, including experience with data cleaning, transformation, and analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical findings to non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to thrive in a small, collaborative team environment.
- High level of professionalism and maturity, with experience interacting with senior executives, private equity sponsors, lenders, legal teams, middle managers, and frontline staff.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, with the ability to craft structured, high-quality reports and presentations.
- Strong responsiveness and adaptability in fast-paced environments.
