Medical Assistant – Senior Primary Care
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct patient intake, including measuring and recording vital signs, interviewing patients, and documenting medical history. Perform examinations and routine screenings while ensuring patients are well-informed and comfortable.
- Actively listen and engage with patients throughout their appointments, reporting any changes in their condition to physicians, specialists, or other clinical staff.
- Prioritize patient experience by handling phone inquiries, returning calls, routing messages appropriately, and communicating necessary information to patients on behalf of the physician.
- Assist with minor medical procedures, including dressing changes, bandage application, suture removal, and first aid. Perform CPR when necessary, under physician supervision.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards while maintaining accurate, ethical, and legally compliant documentation.
- Provide health coaching to a designated group of patients, supporting healthy lifestyle choices and conducting follow-up calls on a weekly basis.

- Experience with claims/quality reports and analytical software is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel) and other relevant software programs.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for company meetings.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Completion of a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent healthcare vocational training (e.g., foreign-trained physician, paramedic, etc.).
- Minimum of one year of experience as a Medical Assistant.
- At least six months of phlebotomy experience preferred.
- BLS for Healthcare Providers certification required.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR), preferably EClinicalWorks.
- Prior experience working with geriatric patients is a plus.
