Job Description
At Regions, the Cyber Security Engineer plays a vital role in securing cloud applications, infrastructure, and platform security within the Cyber Security organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and support cyber security technology solutions.
- Provide technical administration, including troubleshooting, break-fix operations, patching, and routine maintenance for relevant applications.
- Stay updated on industry trends to align security strategies with organizational objectives and needs.
- Maintain operational documentation and reports to support monthly trend analysis and project components.
- Conduct research, proof-of-concept testing, and technology evaluations, analyzing the benefits and drawbacks of different solutions, including build vs. buy assessments.
- Explore and implement new technologies, solutions, and methodologies to enhance business processes, efficiency, and customer value.
- Participate in security incident response and assist in post-incident reviews.
- Collaborate with subject-matter experts to design, implement, and maintain security solutions for business areas, project teams, and vendors.
- Evaluate security standards and the impact of emerging technologies within the Cyber Security organization.
- Support the development and management of security metrics, controls, and governance for cyber security technology.
- Participate in on-call rotation to provide support for critical security technologies.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, helping them develop technical skills and knowledge.
- Assist in reviewing, designing, and improving operational processes, standards, and procedures.
- Ensure adherence to operational processes, standards, and security protocols.
- Support senior engineers in managing complex projects as needed.
