Role Responsibilities:
- Assist in the installation of cutting-edge customer equipment, perform scheduled preventative maintenance and repairs, and upgrade systems as needed.
- Follow training protocols and established procedures to test equipment, diagnose issues, and implement technical solutions.
- Complete all required documentation, safety training, and procedures related to parts processing.
- Represent Applied Materials professionally, maintaining a strong “customer-first” mindset.
- Adhere to company and customer on-site requirements, including safety, environmental, and COVID-19 protocols.
- Mentor junior engineers on safety procedures, troubleshooting methods, and fostering a customer-focused approach.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Associate degree, military technical training, or a technical certification equivalent to an associate degree.
- 4–7 years of experience in the semiconductor industry or a related equipment support field.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on detailed documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Advanced mechanical aptitude with knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum systems, and thermodynamics.
- Expertise in the proper use of hand tools, including digital multimeters.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport.
Physical Requirements:
- Availability to work rotational shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Willingness to travel for training and customer site visits, including possible international travel.
- Ability to:
- Walk extensively and stand for long periods.
- Work in confined spaces and at various heights.
- Bend, squat, twist, kneel, and reach.
- Climb stairs and ladders.
- Lift up to 35 pounds.
- Distinguish between colors.
- Work in environments with moderate to high noise levels.
- Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
