Key Responsibilities
- Supplier Management: Evaluate supplier capabilities, capacity, and costs to strategically allocate annual spending, optimizing for service, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Supply Planning: Manage both basic and advanced planning parameters to ensure efficient net requirements planning.
- Order Management: Analyze supply and demand, manage open order exceptions, negotiate pricing, delivery, and terms with contract manufacturers and suppliers, and oversee purchase orders.
- Performance Analysis: Regularly review key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop targeted strategies to address any unfavorable trends.
- Process Improvement: Identify and close business process gaps, collaborating with stakeholders to enhance planning, procurement, and inventory management.
- Supplier Coordination: Conduct regular supplier production reviews to ensure sufficient capacity and on-time deliveries.
- Business Reviews: Lead quarterly business reviews with suppliers to drive continuous improvement.
- Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels to prevent stockouts while maintaining cost-efficient operations.
- Supplier Qualification: Support the evaluation and onboarding of new suppliers.
- Strategic Sourcing: Assess vendor bids, negotiate contracts, and secure the best quality, pricing, and terms.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Act as a liaison between suppliers and internal teams, including Engineering, Quality, and Finance.
- Supplier Site Visits: Travel to existing and potential supplier facilities to assess manufacturing processes, capabilities, investment strategies, and growth potential.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform other tasks as assigned.
Travel Requirement
- Less than 25% overnight travel.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) required; equivalent supply chain experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Experience: Minimum three years in supply planning, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably within the medical device industry. Prior military service in leadership roles may also be considered.
- Certifications: APICS CSCP/CPIM certification preferred.
