Meeting Client and Property Technology Needs
- Manages the entire technology and asset life cycle, ensuring the timely procurement and availability of necessary equipment such as PCs, servers, and telecommunications systems.
- Acts as a technical analyst in the design and implementation of Local and Wide Area Network (LAN/WAN) architectures for administrative and customer use.
- Identifies and resolves network and system performance issues.
- Assists the Director of IT with disaster recovery and business continuity planning related to LAN/WAN systems.
- Ensures technology assets are secure and properly maintained in line with Marriott International policies and standards.
- Installs, monitors, and maintains telecommunications equipment, including cabling, while providing technical guidance as required.
- Manages network equipment changes, including additions, moves, and deletions.
- Ensures adequate bandwidth availability and the security of network circuits.
- Implements and enforces security procedures according to Marriott International’s Corporate Security guidelines.
- Troubleshoots high-speed Internet access issues and escalates problems as necessary, following the appropriate chain of command.
- Monitors LAN/WAN performance to guarantee reliable network responsiveness.
- Maintains the physical infrastructure and software configuration of LAN/WAN hardware.
- Offers network design and consulting services to exhibition clients.
- Keeps up-to-date documentation and inventory databases for all network components.
- Communicates LAN/WAN issues to relevant stakeholders as needed.
- Engages with clients to review technical requirements through conference calls, meetings, and scheduled appointments.
- Assists the IT Manager in enhancing support procedures and developing new service methodologies.
- Provides end-user support to property staff and business centers.
- Establishes and maintains a secure network and server environment.
- Performs backups and routine/non-routine preventative maintenance on network equipment.
Supporting On-Property Projects and Global Initiatives
- Provides IT expertise for projects impacting the assigned property, potentially leading project teams.
- Evaluates solutions and processes developed by external vendors involved in the project.
- Manages communications for new application/system installations and resolves related issues.
Managing Work Within Budget Targets
- Collaborates with property management to develop CAPEX and operating budgets for anticipated IT projects and support needs.
- Reviews operating statements, investigates discrepancies in technology expenses, and resolves them.
- Ensures compliance with Marriott International’s Policy and Information Security Manual, implementing solutions according to cluster Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Conducts regular inventories of applications and hardware, preparing detailed reports for property management.
- Assists in reviewing vendor proposals to select appropriate local technology and hardware suppliers.
- Verifies adherence to technology-related vendor contracts.
