Intern, Computer Engineer – ArcBest Technologies
ArcBest Technologies, the tech and innovation team of ArcBest, is seeking a Computer Engineer Intern to assist their Engineering and Technology Research and Development teams.
About the Role:
You will perform various tasks related to computer engineering, including circuit analysis, printed circuit board development, and firmware support for embedded systems.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in computer engineering studies, designs, and specifications.
- Identify and implement solutions to logistics and computer engineering problems.
- Draft and proofread communications.
- Build, test, and troubleshoot computer systems within industrial machinery.
- Research, order, and install electronic/mechanical components.
- Fabricate control systems for Tech R&D projects.
- Program and build PLC systems for automated testing.
- Document wiring diagrams, schematics, and test procedures.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Requirements:
- Education: Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical, or a related field.
- Experience: Prior experience in electrical and computer engineering is preferred. Experience with EDA software is required.
- Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Additional Requirements: Strong systems analysis and design skills.

Other Details:
- Work Hours: Part-time internship (30-40 hours per week) from May through the summer. Typical hours are 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
- Compensation: Hourly pay, biweekly.
- Location: Fort Smith, AR – Technologies Lab (On-Campus).
