Responsibilities
- Oversee Financial Operations: Ensure the accuracy and efficiency of daily financial activities, including accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing and billing, customer credit and collections, perpetual inventory management, fixed asset records, general and cost accounting, as well as sales, use, and income tax reporting.
- Financial Reporting: Deliver timely monthly financial reporting packages and ad-hoc reports to management and the Board of Directors as needed.
- Team Leadership and Development: Supervise and mentor the accounting team in line with company policies and applicable laws, fostering a culture of growth and accountability.
- Financial Analysis and Decision Support: Provide analytical tools to evaluate company initiatives, including special projects, capital expenditures, and product costing.
- Budgeting Support: Assist in the preparation of the annual budget to align financial goals with organizational strategy.
- Internal Controls and Compliance: Protect company assets and ensure accurate financial records through the implementation of rigorous internal controls and checks across all departments.
- Policy and Procedure Documentation: Maintain a comprehensive system of documented accounting policies and procedures.
- Payroll Coordination: Collaborate with the HR Manager to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.
- Banking and Credit Management: Manage commercial banking relationships to secure competitive credit resources and ensure compliance with any applicable financial covenants.
- Audit and Compliance Coordination: Serve as the primary liaison with external audit firms, coordinating annual or periodic audits to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- External Relations Management: Engage with banks, leasing companies, insurance agents, credit card companies, and collection agencies to maintain effective financial operations.
- Quality and Certification Compliance: Ensure all financial activities meet relevant quality standards and certifications.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as needed to support the organization’s financial health and operational efficiency.
Skills & Qualifications
Required Abilities:
- Analytical Proficiency: Strong analytical skills with advanced expertise in Excel and experience using financial accounting and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, CXT).
- Persuasive Communication: Exceptional presentation skills, particularly for conveying complex or sensitive topics to top management and the Board of Directors.
- Comprehensive Understanding: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business publications, professional journals, technical procedures.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited four-year college or university is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Professional Experience: A minimum of ten years of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Technical Expertise: Experience with NetSuite is preferred but not mandatory.
- Certification: CPA license is preferred but not required.
- Pre-Employment Requirements: Successful completion of a background check and drug screening is mandatory for all potential employees.
