Key Responsibilities
- Ensure smooth patient flow by promptly rooming patients, recording vital signs, conducting required screenings, and reviewing medications.
- Maintain inventory and stock exam rooms with necessary supplies.
- Provide telephonic support to patients, including sharing lab results and faxing medical records to specialists.
- In compliance with state regulations, administer vaccinations and perform point-of-care tests, such as A1C, spirometry, EKGs, and blood draws for laboratory testing.
- Upload required documents into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system through scanning or PDF upload.
- Actively participate in care team meetings to discuss patient care plans and clinic operations.
- Process orders for durable medical equipment as needed.
- Request medical records from external providers as required by healthcare providers.
- Conduct routine quality control checks, including infection control measures, equipment maintenance, and monitoring for expired medications and supplies. Assist in maintaining the center’s lab when necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- State or national certification (as required by state regulations) or completion of an accredited medical assistant program.
- At least one year of experience as a medical assistant.
- Current CPR or BLS certification.
- Proficiency in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
- Strong computer skills, including the ability to navigate and use multiple software programs such as Gmail, MS Word or Google Docs, Excel or Google Sheets, and other relevant applications.
