Sales Manager: Role and Responsibilities

New Business Development:

  • Develop and implement a strategic sales plan to drive new business opportunities and increase market share. Engage in consistent weekly prospecting activities to build a strong pipeline and effectively manage the entire assigned territory.
  • Conduct market research to stay ahead of industry trends, understand evolving customer needs, and analyze the competitive landscape within the fleet management sector.
  • Initiate, structure, negotiate, and close lease and service agreements with key prospects within the designated geographic area, driving revenue growth. Collaborate with the Regional VP of Sales to structure rates and returns in alignment with Union Leasing’s Pricing Policies.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to create impactful promotional materials and coordinate participation in industry events.
  • Work closely with Customer Experience teams to ensure a smooth onboarding process and consistent, high-quality service delivery to new clients, aiming to maximize customer satisfaction and promote additional service offerings.
  • Gather and present customer financial data to effectively communicate credit line needs and requests to the Finance committee.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Gain a deep understanding of client needs and customize fleet management solutions—such as fleet leasing, telematics, maintenance programs, and fuel management—to meet those needs.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts, proactively addressing concerns and delivering strategic solutions.
  • Conduct strategic customer reviews annually or quarterly, as needed, and schedule regular client visits on a quarterly basis.

Strategic Planning and Market Expansion:

  • Partner with senior leadership to define and execute business development strategies aimed at expanding the company’s footprint in new markets or industry verticals.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory updates, and competitive activities to guide business development initiatives and identify growth opportunities.

Key Qualifications for Success in This Role:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field such as Business, Management, or equivalent work experience is required.
  • Proven experience in B2B sales with a demonstrated track record of driving business growth. A strong understanding of leasing products and lease structures within the Fleet Management and Auto Industries is highly preferred.
