How You Will Contribute

  • Assess donor eligibility by managing informed consent, providing AIDS education, overseeing confidential self-exclusion, conducting medical history interviews, performing physical examinations, and reviewing blood tests, including Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
  • Monitor and evaluate donor reactions within the facility, following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Respond to medical emergencies in accordance with SOPs, including implementing Center Physician standing orders and arranging donor transport to emergency care when necessary.
  • Consult with the Center Physician or Medical Affairs regarding unacceptable donor findings or guidance on medical and technical concerns, including donor safety and eligibility.
  • Support employee vaccination programs for Hepatitis B and seasonal flu, as applicable.
  • Manage employee incidents, assess the need for further evaluation by occupational health or emergency care, and follow Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) guidelines regarding workplace incidents.
  • Serve as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist with investigations related to pandemic threats in the local community, as directed by EHS or Medical Affairs.

What You Bring to Takeda

  • High school diploma or equivalent, including completion of a state-recognized nursing program.
  • Active licensure or certification in the state of practice as a Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA).
  • Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
  • Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy (as applicable).
  • Completion of FDA-approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialists.
  • At least two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
