How You Will Contribute
- Assess donor eligibility by managing informed consent, providing AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, conducting medical history interviews, and ensuring compliance with acceptance criteria.
- Perform physical examinations, blood testing, and review Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate and respond to donor reactions occurring within the facility in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Follow established SOPs for medical emergencies, including implementing the Center Physician’s standing orders and arranging emergency transport when necessary.
- Consult with the Center Physician or Medical Affairs regarding unacceptable donor findings, medical concerns, or donor eligibility and safety.
- Support employee vaccination programs for Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu as needed.
- Manage employee incidents, assessing whether additional evaluation is required through occupational health or emergency services.
- Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS), assisting in local pandemic-related investigations under EHS or Medical Affairs guidance.
What You Bring to Takeda
- High school diploma or equivalent, along with completion of a recognized nursing education program that meets state requirements.
- Active and unrestricted licensure or certification in the state of practice as a Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA).
- Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) use.
- Compliance with state-mandated requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Successful completion of FDA-approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
- Minimum of two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
