Role Responsibilities

This position serves as a Project Manager and team leader, utilizing technical expertise to develop municipal water and wastewater projects while enhancing team capabilities. Key responsibilities include:

  • Project Leadership – Overseeing projects from planning and design to construction for water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, stormwater systems, and distribution/collection networks.
  • Project Management – Developing scopes, budgets, and schedules, ensuring timely and cost-effective project execution.
  • Industry Engagement – Participating in conferences, associations, and committees at local, state, and national levels, including leadership and presentation opportunities.
  • Business Development – Supporting marketing and client management efforts, working with senior staff on proposals and regional growth strategies.
  • Cross-Discipline Coordination – Collaborating with other disciplines to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Technical Execution – Managing small to large planning and design projects, preparing complete construction packages, and ensuring compliance with engineering, procurement, and construction standards.
  • Engineering Expertise – Conducting detailed engineering calculations and analyses, utilizing design software, with drafting software knowledge being beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Team Supervision – Mentoring and supervising junior engineers and technical staff, while maintaining adherence to Arcadis’ standards for municipal water and wastewater projects.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering (or related field).
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.

  • Leadership & mentorship – Experience supervising and mentoring junior staff.
  • Expertise in drinking water treatment design – Knowledge of methodologies, tools, and techniques.
  • Client relationship management – Proven ability to develop proposals and successfully manage client expectations.
  • Project experience – Hands-on experience in planning, design, and construction for water, wastewater, stormwater, and conveyance systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or an MBA.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License.
