Medical Billing Specialist
Description
As a Medical Billing Specialist at North Country HealthCare AZ, you will be an essential part of our financial operations, working under the supervision of the Medical Billing Coordinator. Your role ensures accurate and timely processing of medical claims, contributing to the financial health of our organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Review medical claims, occupational health, and grant invoices for accuracy, proper coding, and compliance with third-party contractual agreements.
- Submit claims to insurance companies via paper and/or electronic data interchange (EDI) while ensuring timely processing.
- Verify claim accuracy and process them efficiently to secure appropriate reimbursement, adhering to all federal, state, and payer regulations for North Country HealthCare clinics.
- Serve as the liaison for lab invoicing.
- Conduct research, document findings, and communicate effectively with supervisors and managers to optimize performance.
- Handle timely follow-up on Explanation of Benefits (EOB) denials.
- Follow up on claim rejections from electronic submissions and unpaid insurance accounts identified through aging reports.
- Identify and report billing and reimbursement trends or issues to the Supervisor or Manager.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- 7–11 months of experience in a related field.
