Primary Responsibilities & Duties
- Teach & Mentor: Deliver 2D Animation courses to a diverse student body, utilizing engaging instructional methods aligned with departmental learning outcomes and community college standards.
- Departmental Engagement: Actively participate in curriculum review, program assessment, and governance to continuously enhance student learning outcomes.
- Student Support: Provide timely, constructive feedback on student progress while serving as a mentor to those in the 2D Animation program.
- Equity & Inclusion: Foster an inclusive learning environment free from discrimination, ensuring equal opportunities for all students.
- Professional Development: Stay current in the field through ongoing learning and professional development activities.
- College & Department Contributions: Engage in unit-level planning and serve on committees, councils, and task forces to support institutional goals.
- Administrative Duties: Complete assigned tasks from department leadership and comply with college policies and expectations.
Technology Requirements
- Software Proficiency: Experience using Toon Boom Harmony, Clip Studio Paint, Adobe Photoshop, or similar tools.
- LMS Utilization: Ability to manage course content and administrative tasks (e.g., syllabi, office hours) within an online learning management system such as Blackboard.

Educational Requirements
- Minimum: Associate degree in 2D Animation or a related field (e.g., Game Design, Creative Writing, Film Production, Programming, Studio Art).
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in 2D Animation, Concept Design, Character Design, or Fine Art Studio Art with a strong emphasis on 2D Animation.
Industry Experience Requirements
- Minimum: Three years of non-teaching, industry-related experience in the 2D Animation sector.
