Job Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care: Provide competent technical and clinical services, adapting to daily needs in accordance with Cincinnati Children’s policies, best practices, and departmental requirements. Assist care providers with procedures and patient physical exams. Prepare patients for examination and treatment. Deliver care consistent with family-centered care and medical home models. Provide flexible, culturally competent, and responsive care to meet patient and family needs. Treat families as full partners in decision-making regarding their child’s care, offering information, services, and support collaboratively and respectfully.
  • Customer Service: Act as a patient advocate and strive to better meet the needs of patients and families. Utilize a customer-focused approach to complete tasks and interact with customers courteously, attentively, and conscientiously. Respond promptly to parent requests and concerns. Provide appropriate education and information to patients and families.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively and cooperatively with others, following complex instructions to solve problems and achieve goals. Develop positive working relationships with peers and colleagues, acknowledging their skills, experience, knowledge, creativity, and contributions. Share knowledge and provide support to team members. Contribute to and promote a positive and professional work environment.
  • Data Management: Manage records according to department policy. Assist with data collection for various forms. Obtain consent and release of information forms when necessary. Maintain patient files, records, and other information. Adhere to established documentation practices, ensuring accurate and detailed data entry and document management.
  • Laboratory Work and Testing: May manage specimens according to protocols. Maintain knowledge of routine testing processes and retrieve test results. Communicate normal lab results as delegated.

Job Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of a Medical Assisting program and no directly related experience or completion of a formal medical services training program of the U.S. armed forces or 1 year of related work experience.
