Key Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Senior Merchandising Manager, you will play a crucial role in shaping our Onsite Search, Visual Merchandising, and Onsite Hierarchy strategies. Your goal is to enhance the customer journey, ensuring they can easily navigate our vast range of SKUs and categories.
- Lead the relationship with our Search & Merch provider, ensuring a customer-focused approach that aligns with our goal of achieving a hyper-personalized Search & Merch experience.
- Develop and own the Search & Merch strategy, leveraging our wealth of 1st party data to improve our Websites, App, and In-Store Digital Browsers.
- Challenge existing processes and shift from opinion-based merchandising to an algorithm-driven, data-backed strategy. Continuously test and iterate to drive performance and meet core merchandising KPIs.
- Evaluate our digital tools to keep pace with the evolving eCommerce landscape, optimizing the customer experience across our Website, App, and In-Store Digital Browsers.
- Work closely with Digital Trading, Digital Marketing, CRO, and Retail Media teams to ensure product discoverability aligns with consumer behavior while meeting internal commercial goals.
- Help define and optimize our website hierarchy to provide an excellent shopping experience, using digital data to inform our approach and boost SEO performance.
- Devise strategies for Slow-Moving Lines, New Products, and Discontinued items to drive conversion and revenue without harming the customer journey.
- Manage onsite facet filters, prioritizing them based on customer behavior and suggesting new subsets to improve performance.
- Use digital tools like ContentSquare and GA4 to analyze customer interactions with Onsite Search, Product Listing Pages, Product Detail Pages, and Product Recommendations, shaping optimizations to the customer journey.
- Review and analyze onsite search and merchandising data daily to continuously enhance the experience, sharing insights with the trading team for future product ranging opportunities.
- Drive updates to the online category strategy based on insights from customers, competitors, brand strategy, and eCommerce goals.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, customer preferences, and competitor activity, identifying opportunities for product placement, new journeys, and onsite features.
- Collaborate with the Senior Digital Merchandising Manager to align on strategies, next steps, and ensure consistency with the broader function strategy.
- Partner with teams to manage digital campaigns and events, adapting the website, app, and in-store digital experiences to meet KPIs and achieve campaign objectives.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong analytical skills to assess and interpret data, enabling timely and informed decision-making.
- Proficient in GA4 and other advanced merchandising tools.
- Experience with tools like ContentSquare, Hotjar, and Bazaar Voice is preferable.
- Comprehensive understanding of SEO, including technical aspects and backlinking.
- Familiarity with third-party tools related to user-generated content (UGC).
- In-depth knowledge of search journeys and platform capabilities, with preferred experience in Fredhopper or Algolia.
- Extensive experience in a similar role, ideally in retail.
- Proven experience managing and developing teams.
