Chichester College is seeking a passionate Production Arts Lecturer who is eager to share their expertise in the backstage world of theatre. Ideally, the successful candidate will have a professional theatre background and some experience teaching in the further education (FE) sector.
Chichester College maintains strong ties within the local community and supports 16 productions annually, both at our own small theatre and at renowned venues such as The Minerva at the Chichester Festival Theatre (CFT) and the Guildhall in Portsmouth.
The Production Arts course plays a vital role in the department, collaborating with other courses such as Musical Theatre, Acting, and Dance. Students studying behind-the-scenes crafts actively participate in all productions, including Theatre Inc., our inclusive theatre company, and our successful level 3 and level 4 acting courses.
This part-time role requires a commitment of three days per week and may involve course management duties. We are looking for a candidate with teaching experience in theatre arts and practical knowledge of modern theatre operations, with expertise in sound and lighting desks being an advantage.
