About the Job

We are looking for a motivated and skilled Physiotherapist to join our Allied Health Professionals (AHP) team at Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust on a permanent basis.

Role Overview

As a Senior Physiotherapist, you will have the opportunity to rotate across both hospital sites—Southport District General Hospital and Ormskirk District General Hospital—while also contributing to service development initiatives.

This role provides diverse rotation opportunities to help consolidate and enhance your skills across various specialist services, including:

• Medicine & Surgery
• Discharge to Assess Therapy-Led Unit
• North West Regional Spinal Injuries Centre
• Stroke
• Elective Orthopaedics
• Trauma and Orthopaedics
• Accident & Emergency
• MSK (Musculoskeletal Services)

Our Services

Acute Care

We deliver emergency and maternity services at Whiston, Southport, and Ormskirk hospitals, along with medical and surgical specialties across all sites.

Primary Care

Our primary care services are provided at Marshalls Cross Medical Centre, located within St Helens Hospital.

Community Services

• Adult community services for St Helens
• Wheelchair services for Chorley, South Ribble, and West Lancashire
• Newton Community Hospital inpatient unit, supporting rehabilitation and easing pressure on acute hospital beds
• Urgent Treatment Centre in St Helens town centre

Specialist Regional Services

We provide:

• Mersey Regional Burns & Plastic Surgery Unit at Whiston Hospital
• Spinal Injuries Unit at Southport Hospital
  These services support a population of over 4 million people across Merseyside, West Lancashire, Cheshire, Isle of Man, and North Wales.
