Apprentice Forklift Engineer
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual eager to develop a career as a forklift engineer. This apprenticeship provides a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience, receive high-quality training, and work for the world’s leading forklift and materials handling manufacturer.
In this three-year program, you will learn how to service, maintain, and repair forklift trucks and other material handling equipment while working towards an industry-recognized qualification. The apprenticeship combines practical workplace training with college-based learning.
As part of our service team, you will work at one of our centers or customer sites, gaining invaluable experience alongside industry professionals.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Shadowing and working with experienced mentors to understand materials handling equipment
- Learning how forklifts operate and how to repair them
- Attending block training weeks at college, participating in classroom and workshop sessions
- Engaging in online learning and development with the training provider
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone with a passion for mechanics or engineering and a hands-on approach to learning. A positive attitude, willingness to develop, and strong work ethic are essential.
Ideal candidates will have:
- GCSE grades A-C / 4-9 in English, Maths, and either Science, Engineering, or IT (or equivalent)
- A strong interest in mechanical engineering
- Good communication skills
- Willingness to learn and take instruction
- Basic computer literacy
