Level 6 Degree Apprenticeships at Arup
Our apprenticeships offer the opportunity to earn a competitive salary while gaining industry-recognized qualifications. As an apprentice, you will study with a training provider, such as a university, while gaining hands-on experience in the workplace. Depending on your course, your study format may include day release, block release, or distance learning. A dedicated mentor will support your personal and professional growth throughout your journey.
Level 6 Degree Apprenticeships typically last between 3 to 6 years, during which you will achieve both professional and academic qualifications to advance your career. Apprentices at Arup are employed on a permanent basis, ensuring continued career progression upon course completion.
The Opportunity
Digital Technology Solutions Professional – Network Engineer (Digital Advisory):
As a Level 6 Degree Apprentice Telecoms Engineer, you will contribute to the design and specification of ICT systems and services within the built environment. You will collaborate with engineers and consultants to develop solutions that meet client needs. Your role will involve ICT space planning, system appraisal, and overseeing the installation and commissioning of ICT systems, including:
- Physical infrastructure (e.g., ICT rooms, pathways, and risers)
- Cabling (e.g., copper and fiber networks)
- Local Area Networks (LANs)
- Wireless LANs
- Telephony Systems
- Television Distribution Systems (Terrestrial, Satellite, and IP)
- Private Mobile Radio Systems
- Cellular Enhancement Systems (e.g., DAS and Small Cells)
- Cyber Security
This apprenticeship leads to a BSc in Digital and Technology Solutions (Network Engineer Pathway). From your first day, you’ll be part of a community of experts and encouraged to work towards an accredited qualification. A dedicated mentor will support your transition into the workplace, working closely with you on your daily responsibilities.
What We’re Looking For
We seek candidates with:
- Five or more GCSEs at grade 5 or above, including Maths, English, and Science.
- A minimum of three A-levels at grade C or above, with at least two STEM subjects (Maths or Science required).
- Alternatively, a Level 3 apprenticeship or other relevant qualifications.

Eligibility
To qualify for apprenticeship funding, candidates must have the right to work in the UK and have been a continuous resident in the UK since at least September 2022. If you hold a visa, it must remain valid for the full apprenticeship duration, which may extend up to five years.
