Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

  • Degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy
  • HCPC Registration

Desirable

  • Relevant special interest group membership
  • Evidence of CPPD to Master’s level or equivalent ( i.e qualified member of the Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists, Injection Therapy, relevant MSc and drug prescribing course)

Knowledge Essential

  • Good knowledge of complex pain syndromes
  • Be able to assess and diagnose a range of complex conditions providing appropriate treatment options
  • Awareness of trust vision, values and strategic objectives
  • Good working knowledge of all areas of clinical governance including quality, audit and risk management
  • Understands the legal responsibilities of the profession
  • Excellent knowledge of the Equality Act and its implications related to service provision and learning within a public sector body

Desirable

  • Knowledge of CQC standards and how they relate to outpatients

Experience Essential

  • Gateway question: Significant experience in musculoskeletal specialty of Physiotherapy in the NHS or equivalent experience.
  • Broad experience of MSK conditions
  • Experience of operational team management
  • Lone working experience

Desirable

  • Experience of performance management of Physiotherapists and students
  • Experience in audit and evaluation
  • Experience of service developments
  • Experience of leading complaints and incident investigations
  • Understanding of the research process
