We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist with strong experience in payroll processing and expertise in ADP systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and reconciling bi-weekly payroll, performing audits, and ensuring the accuracy of employee deductions. This role requires proficiency in payroll procedures and excellent analytical skills, as well as the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Job Title: Payroll Specialist

Location: Newburyport, MA (Hybrid)

Shift: 1st shift 7:00 am – 3:30 pm Monday – Friday

Employment Type: Contract for 9 months (May extend depending on the client needs)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process bi-weekly payroll using ADP and manage reconciliations to ensure all data is accurate before final submission.
  • Manage and verify employee time worked and other pay components, including deductions for taxes, benefits, and other withholdings.
  • Audit, analyze, and reconcile multiple payroll reports to ensure the accuracy of payroll changes and adjustments.
  • Cut manual checks on-premise and handle wire payments as needed.
  • Create and manage payroll pay and benefit codes in the ADP system.
  • Oversee all year-end payroll tasks, including the approval of annual W-2s and other related documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3- 5 years required showing demonstrated hands-on work experience processing payroll with a strong background in ADP systems.
  • Demonstrated expertise in processing bi-weekly payroll, performing reconciliations, and managing payroll reports.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Associate’s degree preferred but not required.
