Warehouse Operative Nights
Wincanton are recruiting for Warehouse Operatives to join our night team in Portbury, working in a team supporting with the day-to-day warehouse activity.
As a Warehouse Operative you’ll report directly to the Warehouse Team Manager. This role offers variety to ensure we achieve and excel customer expectations. You’ll deliver KPI’s both productively and accurately to ensure we deliver a seamless journey for our customer whilst maintaining a high level of Health & Safety within the Warehouse Operation.

- £ 29,243.76 per annum
- Nights
- Monday to Friday
- 22:00 to 06:00
- 40 hours per week with paid breaks
- Overtime paid at time & half basic rate after 40 hours work
- 28 days annual leave including Bank Holidays
How will you contribute?
- Warehouse duties including picking stock accurately and efficiently using handheld device to scan
- Items to be loaded onto pallets
- Checking of picked stock and assembled loads prior to dispatch
- Ensuring quality is of the highest standards and all stock is handled with care, so it arrives at our customers in perfect condition
- Ensuring areas are kept clean and tidy
- Working in a team environment in a safe manner adhering to site Health & Safety regulations and Safe Systems of Work
- A range of duties to support the operational efficiency and general housekeeping and hygiene standards of the warehouse and site
What will you bring?
- Previous warehouse experience is advantageous
- FLT Counterbalance and reach experience is advantageous
- Attention to detail to accurately enable the correct picking of stock
- Have appropriate hand, eye, and foot coordination to effectively use mechanical handling equipment safely
- You will be reliable, self-motivated, a strong team player and will have a flexible approach to work
- We provide a comprehensive Training Programme to ensure you have everything you need to get started, including Manual Handling and much more.
- It will be advantageous holding a MHE licence or willing to upskill to become Counterbalance/reach truck drivers. Main duties are picking, MHE duties are only required for maximum of 2 hours per shift.
