SUMMARY
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll and Tax Specialist to join our team. This role will play a critical part in ensuring compliance and accuracy in payroll processing and tax reporting. The specialist will work on resolving outstanding payroll tax liabilities, setting up future payroll taxes, and maintaining accurate employee tax records. This position requires proficiency in payroll systems, particularly ADP, and a strong understanding of payroll and tax regulations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Review and clean up outstanding payroll tax liabilities to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.
• Set up and maintain payroll tax accounts for current and future tax jurisdictions.
• Reconcile payroll tax filings and resolve discrepancies in collaboration with tax agencies.
• Update employee tax information for worked-in and lived-in jurisdictions to ensure proper tax deductions.
• Maintain accurate employee tax records and adjust for changes as needed.
• Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local tax regulations.
• Stay updated on changes in tax laws and payroll regulations, implementing necessary updates in the payroll system.
• Process updates in ADP related to employee addresses, tax withholding status changes, and other payroll adjustments.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
• Proficiency in payroll systems, particularly ADP Workforce Now or similar platforms.
• Strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
• Experience with payroll tax reconciliation and resolving tax discrepancies.
• Ability to analyze payroll data for accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
• Capable of prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with employees, tax agencies, and internal teams.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Demonstrated experience handling payroll tax accounts and resolving tax-related discrepancies.
